The Bangladesh Navy, along with the Coast Guard and local police, arrested four individuals, including three suspected terrorists, and seized a large amount of weapons and explosives.

This was all part of the ongoing Operation Devil Hunt, a joint initiative to tackle terrorism and maintain law and order in coastal regions.

The action took place on the night of February 10, 2025, when intelligence reports pointed to a terrorist hideout in the Kawsar Mia brickfield area in Hatia, near the Haji Abul Bashar Market in Charking Union, Ward No. 2.

A joint team of security forces quickly responded to the tip-off and moved towards the location.

As the forces closed in, the terrorists tried to escape by throwing several cocktail bombs, causing explosions in a bid to confuse the authorities.

Despite the chaos, the forces remained calm and successfully arrested three men: Mohammad Nabir Uddin, Mohammad Imam Hossain, and Mohammad Fakhrul Islam Tipu.

From the scene, the authorities recovered a dangerous collection of weapons and explosives, which included:

  • A foreign-made pistol, complete with a magazine and one round of ammunition
  • Three locally-made one-barrel guns
  • Eight cartridges
  • 20 cocktails
  • Two daggers
  • Three knives
  • One sword

The Bangladesh Navy was joined by the Coast Guard and police during this operation.

Their prompt action prevented the terrorists from escaping and protected the area from further harm.

Meanwhile, in a separate operation in Sandwip, a notorious criminal named Humayun Kabir, also known as Babul, was arrested at his home.

Babul is believed to be involved in a series of violent crimes, including murder, robbery, and extortion.

Authorities have confirmed that he had been under surveillance for some time due to his criminal activities.

The arrested individuals are said to have been involved in several violent crimes, such as murder, robbery, drug trafficking, and extortion.

The police are continuing their investigation into their connections with larger criminal groups operating in the region.

The Operation Devil Hunt is an ongoing effort by the Bangladesh Navy, which regularly conducts patrols and special operations in coastal areas.

The operation is carried out under the Aid to Civil Power initiative, aimed at enhancing security and ensuring public safety.

With the latest arrests and weapon recovery, the Navy has made significant strides in fighting terrorism and organized crime in Bangladesh.

Authorities are committed to keeping up the pressure on criminal groups, with plans to continue similar operations throughout the region.

Citizens are encouraged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to local authorities.

Together, the government and the people can help make the country safer for all.

This operation shows that the authorities are taking strong actions to prevent terrorism and ensure that lawlessness does not take root in the country.

The Bangladesh Navy’s role in Operation Devil Hunt continues to be critical to the safety and security of the region.
